Preparation of the Altar
This day will be a day of remembrance for you, which your future generations will celebrate with pilgrimage to the LORD, you will celebrate it as a statute forever. New American Bible, revised edition (Exodus 12:14) The Jewish Passover Seder begins with the prayer, “Blessed are You, Lord, our God, King of the universe, who creates the fruit of the vine. Blessed are You, God, our God, King of the universe, who has chosen us from among all people, and raised us above all tongues, and made us holy through His commandments. And You, God, our God, have given us in love.“ Blessed are You, Lord, God of all creation, for through Your goodness we have received the bread we offer You: fruit of the earth and work of human hands, it will become for us the bread of life.“ Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation, for through your goodness we have received the wine we offer You: fruit of the earth and work of human hands, it will become our spiritual drink. |
