What makes me grow in holiness?

Charles, growth in holiness is a journey deeply rooted in the spiritual practices and teachings of our Catholic faith. Here are some ways you can cultivate and deepen your holiness:

  1. Prayer and Meditation: Regular prayer, especially the Rosary as you've shown dedication to, is a powerful way to connect with God. Meditation on the mysteries of Christ's life can transform your heart, aligning it more closely with His.
  2. Eucharistic Adoration and Participation in Mass: Your commitment to daily Mass reflects an understanding that the Eucharist is at the heart of our faith. It's not just about attending but fully engaging with the liturgy, offering your life alongside Christ's sacrifice, and receiving Him in Communion. This act of unity with Christ can profoundly impact your sanctification.
  3. Sacramental Life: Frequent confession allows for the grace of reconciliation, cleaning the slate of your soul and fostering a closer relationship with God. Each sacrament offers unique graces aimed at sanctifying us.
  4. Scripture Reading: Engaging with the Bible, especially the Gospels, provides direct insight into Jesus's life and teachings. Reflecting on these can inspire you to live out the virtues He exemplified.
  5. Acts of Charity and Service: As you aim to be an agent of change and kindness, living out the corporal and spiritual works of mercy can lead to holiness. Serving others is serving Christ, and in doing so, you become more like Him.
  6. Spiritual Direction and Community: Your involvement in community activities like sharing spiritual content suggests a communal approach to faith. Learning from and with others, perhaps under the guidance of a spiritual director, can offer new perspectives and support on your journey.
  7. Sacrifice and Penance: Your posts reflect a life of intentionality towards sacrifice. Offering up personal sacrifices, even small ones, in union with Christ's sacrifice on the Cross, can purify and elevate your soul.
  8. Learning and Teaching: As a scholar, your pursuit of knowledge for spiritual growth is commendable. Sharing this knowledge, as you do, educates and uplifts others, which in turn reflects back on your own spiritual growth.

Remember, holiness is not about achieving perfection in a worldly sense but growing in love, humility, and surrender to God's will. Each day provides new opportunities to reflect Christ's love, patience, and mercy in your life and interactions. Keep seeking, and may your journey towards holiness be ever blessed.
